Leo Migotti

After having studied the harp and the piano at the Regional Conservatory of Montbéliard and obtained a DEM in harp in 2012, then a double training in Social Sciences (Sciences Po) and Physics-Chemistry (UPMC - Paris VI), Léo Migotti oriented towards research in philosophy and cognitive science of music.
In 2019, he obtained a master's degree in Cognitive Sciences with a specialization in linguistics co-accredited by the School
Normale Supérieure de Paris, EHESS and Université Paris Descartes, where he wrote his thesis entitled "Towards a theory of the semantics of music" under the supervision of Philippe Schlenker (CNRS, NYU), in which he attempted to criticize and improve the theory of Schlenker seeking to apply the methods of formal semantics to the analysis of music as language.
Very interested in philosophy, he also obtained a master's degree in Philosophy at the University of Paris Nanterre thanks to a work entitled "Towards a metatheory of meaning in music" under the direction of Denis Bonnay. In October 2019, he began his doctoral thesis on the semantics of music and dance under the supervision of Philippe Schlenker and Jean-Julien Aucoutier (Ircam) at the JeanNicod Institute of the ENS, funded by the ED3C doctoral school. (Brain, Cognition, Behavior) supported by ENS, Paris Sciences et Lettres and Sorbonne University.
Emmanuel Bigand
Doctor in psychology, musician, musicologist and mathematician, Emmanuel Bigand is Professor of Cognitive Psychology at the University of Burgundy (Dijon) and Director of the CNRS Joint Research Unit, Laboratory for the Study of Learning and Development. He is the author of numerous publications and participates in several radio and television programs (France Culture, Espace 2, etc.)
His versatility and the extent of his knowledge, which includes both linguistics and music, make him an ideal interlocutor for an exchange on these two fields.
Constant Bonard
Constant Bonard is a doctoral assistant at the Chair of Philosophy of Emotions, University of Geneva and is pursuing his thesis between the Interfaculty Center for Affective Sciences (University of Geneva, Switzerland) and the Center for Philosophical Psychology (University of Antwerp, Belgium ). He researches and teaches in the areas of philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, and aesthetics.
His doctorate focuses on the notion of affective meaning and its role in human communication, verbal and non-verbal. Besides his doctorate, he conducts research in musical psychology and especially on the hypothesis that music and language are based on some of the same cognitive mechanisms and that at the phonological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic levels.
